Just a quick note: I tried this recipe (hat tip to Amie) for crockpot yogurt and it turned out really well. Going to try mixing it with some fruit this afternoon for snacks.
Yogurt in your crockpot - who knew? Thought I'd note our success with the recipe in case anyone was looking to do the same thing. I did drain mine, btw, to make it thicker.
peace of Christ to you,

I was planning on trying this recipe this week!! Glad to get another good recommendation for it!
I am so glad it was a success! If you like it you should consider a yogurt maker...It only costs around 15-30 (cheaper at a thrift store) and cuts down the steps significantly. It takes me 10 minutes of "prep" and "wait time" and then I just let it sit overnight :-). We did it without for awhile but I am loving the ease of having one :-)
I have a yogurt maker which I've used 2-3x per week for almost 5 years now... I love it. And I'm not a woman to like appliances. My husband likes it thick (think custard-style) so I add a packet of unflavored gelatin PRIOR to the first heating step, and I don't have to drain it. Full recipe on my blog. Blessings!

I've just started making yogurt in the crockpot too, although I've found that if I monitor the temperature more closely I get better (and less runny) results. I'm currently on my third batch and it has gotten better with each attempt.
